Managed Internet Connectivity

Internet Connectivity Options Matched To Your Business Location & Needs

In a connected world your business needs to connect to the cloud to use cloud services and to communicate with customers and suppliers. Where your business is located can limit how you connect to the internet. We can advise, provision and manage internet connections, choosing from a range of trusted suppliers and solutions.

Technical explanations of our common solutions are provided below...

Leased Line

Highly reliable, fast internet connectivity for businesses that need to stay online.

Key features...

  • 99% Uptime, Backed By An SLA

  • Same Upload & Download Speeds

  • High Speed Fibre To Local Point Of Presence

  • Dedicated Line Means No Contention

  • Speeds Up To 10Gb

Wireless Leased Line

Connectivity - Wireless Leased Line

Where fibre based leased lines are not an option, or faster deployment is required, then a wireless leased line may be an option. Costs can be a little more than fibre solutions and suitability will be dependent on your building having line of sight to the wireless mast.

Key features...

  • 99% Uptime, Backed By An SLA

  • Same Download & Upload Speeds

  • Dedicated Line Means No Contention

  • Speeds Up To 1Gb

SoGEA

Following the retirement of the "old" copper network by BT in 2025, SoGEA (Single order Generic Ethernet Access) lines emerge as the entry level broadband connectivity solution.

SoGEA lines exclusively handle data traffic, making them IP-ready.

Without PSTN (voice) lines, SoGEA connections typically incur lower costs compared to traditional phone and broadband orders.

SoGEA is available for both FTTC and FTTP connections, as outlined below:

Key features...

  • Available As FTTC & FTTP connections

  • Faster Download Than Upload Speeds

  • Some Contention Due To Shared Line

  • No Availability Guarantees - Enhanced SLA Available At Additional Cost

Starlink

Connectivity - Starlink

Where traditional infrastructure is not available, or maybe just not good enough, satellite broadband is available and our preferred partner is Starlink.

Unlike traditional satellite connections, Starlink is in low earth orbit meaning connections are faster and have a lower latency. This means the service provided feels closer to a physical internet connection as opposed to other satellite services.

Starlink needs a clear line of sight to the sky to work & the signal can be affected by exernal factors, such as adverse weather.

Starlink does not come with any uptime guarantee or SLA options.

Starlink is available with multiple options including...

  • Prioritised Traffic Management

  • Choice Of  Speed Options Depending On Hardware Purchased

Fibre To The Premises (FTTP)

Where available, FTTP connections provide a reliable, fast internet connection at a very affordable price.  These lines are not backed by any Service Level Agreement and use fibre to connect the customers premises directly to the exchange, doing away with copper wire altogether.  With speeds up to 1Gb and the absence of copper, FTTP makes high speed internet very affordable.

Key features...

  • Not As Widely Available As FTTC

  • Faster Download Than Upload Speeds

  • Some Contention Due To Shared Line

  • No Availability Guarantees - Enhanced SLA Available At Additional Cost

Connectivity - FTTP

Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC)

Connectivity - FTTC

FTTC (otherwise known as VDSL2) is a connectivity solution that is based on a combination of fibre optic cable and BTs existing copper infrastructure.  Lines are not backed by any Service Level Agreement and speeds can reach up to 100MB but this drops the further you are away from your cabinet.

Key features...

  • More Widely Available Than FTTP

  • Faster Download Than Upload Speeds

  • Contention Due To Sharing Bandwidth

  • No Uptime Guarantee - Enhanced SLA Available At Additional Cost
