Alan’s Skip Hire was formed over 25 years ago with the simple premise to provide a local, friendly and great value skip hire service  across Cheshire, Flintshire, Wirral and surrounding areas.

After many successful years Alan’s Skip Hire has become a household name for many across the region, and in keeping with the traditional family values that the company had at its inception, Alan’s Skip Hire has grown into one of the most successful waste management businesses in the UK.

As a part of the ASH Group, our skip hire service has expanded into commercial waste collection, metal recycling, secure storage, civil engineering, demolition, building, earth moving and land remediation.

Background

A customer since day one, Alans Skip Hire have certainly grown and changed in the 20+ years that Pro-Networks have looked after them.  While the technology may have changed the need for responsive, timely and effective IT support hasn’t.  Pro-Networks have worked hand in hand with ASH every step of the way from opening and connecting new depots to IT suite refreshes during our long relationship.

Solution

Having staff at numerous sites, connectivity can be a challenge – particularly at the more remote sites.  Pro-Networks have worked with business class internet service providers to give ASH reliable, fast connectivity throughout the group.  Different requirements call for different solutions and ASH embrace a mix of cloud technology and local, on premise solutions.  Email is provided by Microsoft Office 365 and sites connect to head office remotely for centralised working and work locally where required to connect to weighbridges etc.

Outcome

Pro-Networks are the central point of IT contact for the ASH Group for all their IT needs.  We liaise with third parties providing an essential service to the group in keeping their operation running 24/7 for 365 days each year.  We have helped ASH grow from two sites to seven and each site is connected via monitored broadband lines.  A Disaster Recovery solution has been introduced giving the group resilience in the event of a key site being unable to trade.
